GOVERNMENT ARTS AND SCIENCE COLLEGE FOR WOMEN, SATHANKULAM (GASC SATHANKULAM) The emblem of Government Arts and Science College for Women, Sathankulam (GASC Sathankulam) features a shield housing the motifs of a palmyrah palm, the gopuram of the local temple, a dancing woman, a flame of a lamp and an open book. The motto of the college in Tamil ‘பெண்கட்கு கல்வி கல்வியைப் பேணுதற்கே’ (Part 2, Kudumba Vilakku, Bharatidasan) meaning ‘Education for Women is for the sake of Preserving Education Itself’ is written on a cyan banner placed below the shield.
