GOVERNMENT ARTS COLLEGE FOR WOMEN, NILAKOTTAI (GACWN) The emblem of Government Arts College For Women, Nilakottai (GACWN) features the gopuram of Nilakottai Sri Mariamman Temple and the motifs of two open books being read by humans, a lotus, and a traditional lamp placed on a background of the globe of the world and supported by a pair of fish on sides and a banner at the bottom inscribed with the name of the place in Tamil. On a red banner ensconcing the motifs, the name of the college is written in Tamil. Below the seal, the motto of the college in Tamil ‘மண் பயனுற மகளிர்க்குக் கல்வி’ meaning ‘For the Benefit of the Land, Educate the Women’ is written.
