GOVERNMENT ARTS AND SCIENCE COLLEGE, THIRUTHURAIPOONDI (GASCTTP) The blue emblem of Government Arts and Science College, Thiruthuraipoondi (GASCTTP) features a shield supported by a pair of laurels inscribed with a hand holding a torch, an abstract head of human, a fist of hand. The shield is surmounted by the motto of the college in Tamil ‘கற்று வென்று வழிநடத்து’ and supported by its English vesrion ‘Learn Succeed Lead’. These elements are ensconced by a blue circular border inscribed with the name and place of the college. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the torch with flame is an emblem of enlightenment, hope, life, truth and the regenerative power; the fist of hand refers to strength, power, determination and unity; and the head denotes intense brain activity towards generation and creation; the laurels are symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication.
