MADANAPALLE INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY & SCIENCE (MITS) The emblem of Madanapalle Institute of Technology & Science (MITS) features the letter ‘ॐ’ holding the motifs of a traditional lamp and an open book placed inside a gearwheel inscribed with the name of the college and its year of establishment. Below the seal, on a banner, the motto of the college in Telugu ‘శ్రద్ధావాన్ లభతే జ్ఞానమ్’ (Verse 39, Chapter 4, Bhagavad Gita) meaning ‘The Believer Attains Knowledge’ is inscribed. The letter ‘ॐ’ is the sacred syllable, which represents the representing the essence of the ultimate reality, consciousness or Atman; the lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the book refers to learning, education, knowledge and wisdom; and the gearwheel denotes interconnectedness, efficiency, precision, progress, advancement, synchronisation, timing, order and structure.
