CHIKKANNA GOVERNMENT ARTS COLLEGE (CGAC) The emblem of Chikkanna Government Arts College (CGAC) features a circle housing the motif of the National Flag circumscribed by the motifs of a bol of cotton, an elephant, a plough, an open book, a traditional lamp, and a gearwheel. The seal is surmounted by the name of the college inscribed in Tamil on a blue banner and supported by the motto of the college inscribed in Tamil on a blue banner. The motto is ‘எழுமின் விழிமின் உழையின்’ (Mantra 14, Valli 3, Chapter 1, Kathopanishad) which means ‘Arise, Awake and Stop Not till the Goal is Reached’). The National Flag denotes the nationalistic orientation of the college; the bol of cotton refers to the main produce of the locale; the elephant signifies power, strength, unity and wisdom; the plough refers to agriculture and farmers; the book refers to learning, knowledge, education and wisdom; the lamp symbolises symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection...

CHIKKANNA GOVERNMENT ARTS COLLEGE, TIRUPUR (CGAC) The emblem of Chikkanna Government Arts College, Tirupur (CGAC) features the image of the National flag surrounded by the motifs of an elephant, hoe, open book, a traditional lamp, a gearwheel, and a bol of cotton. The seal is surmounted by a blue banner inscribed with the name of the college in Tamil and supported by a blue banner inscribed with the motto of the college in Tamil ‘எழுமின் விழுமின் உழைமின்’ (Mantra 14, Valli 3, Chapter 1, Kathopanishad - part of the dialogue between Yama and Nachiketa) meaning ‘Arise Awake Strive’. The National Flag refers to the nationalistic orientation; the elephant ; the hoe refers to agriculture; the book refers to learning and education; the lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the gearwheel refers to industry and production; and the bol of cotton refers to the local produce and the cotton industry.
