RAJESWARI VEDACHALA GOVERNMENT ARTS COLLEGE (RVGAC) The emblem of Rajeswari Vedachalam Government Arts College (RVGAC) features an image of poet Thiruvalluvar, Sri Sri Maha Bhairavar Rudhra, a crane on Kolavai Lake ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name and place of the college and its motto in Tamil. The motto reads ‘அறிதோறு அறியாமை கண்டற்றால்’ (1110, Thirukkural, Thiruvalluvar) meaning ‘Knowing the Things of the World is Like Seeing the Unknown’. Thiruvalluvar symbolises literature, history, heritage and culture of the place; the temple denotes divine grace and guidance; and the lake is a major geographical identity of Chengalpattu.
