MALNAD COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING (MCE) The shield-shaped emblem of Malnad College of Engineering (MCE) features the motifs of an electrical transmission tower, a gearwheel, a power symbol and a set of buildings referring to the subject disciplines of engineering in a shield. The shield is crested by a poorna kumbha. The shield is surmounted by a banner inscribed with the motto of the college in Sanskrit न हि ज्ञानेन सदृशं’ (Shloka 38, Chapter 4, Srimad Bhagavad Gita) meaning ‘In this World there Exists No Purifier Comparable to Knowledge’ and supported by the name of the college written on a banner. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; and the poorna kumbha symbolises the fullness or completeness of life.
