ANNAI VELANKANNI ARTS & SCIENCE COLLEGE (AVCAS) The blue logo of Annai Velankanni Arts & Science College (AVCAS) features a pictorial of a shield housing the motifs of a cross, the façade of Velankannai Church, a cross, a palmyrah tree and an open book. The shield is crested by a five pointed star and supported by a banner inscribed with the motto of the college ‘Faith Endeavour Power’. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the church refers to divine blessings and guidance; the Cross is a primary symbol of Christianity; the palmyra tree represents the local tree known for various produces; the book denotes knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; and the star symbolises protection, balance, and human connection to the elements.
