APOLLO ARTS AND SCIENCE COLLEGE (AASC) The emblem of Apollo Arts and Science College (AASC) features a red shield inscribed with the motifs of an open book supporting a flame and a mortarboard hat and supported by a pair of laurels. The shield is surmounted by a blue banner inscribed with the name of the group and supported by another blue banner inscribed with the motto of the college ‘Educated Extolled Everywhere’. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the book refers to knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; the flame is an emblem of enlightenment, hope, life, truth and the regenerative power; the mortarboard hat or Oxford hat denotes educational achievement, equality, tradition and rights of passage; the laurels are symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication; and the colour red signifies passion, power, strength, courage, determination, energy and celebration.
