GOVERNMENT COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, VELLORE (GCEVLR) The emblem of Government College of Education, Vellore (GCEVLR) features a shield housing the motifs of a sun, a globe and a banner inscribed with the motto of the college in Tamil ‘மெய்ப்பொருள் கல்வி’ (22, Kondraivendhan, Avvaiyar) meaning ‘True Wealth is the Education one has Acquired’. Below the shield, on a banner, the name of the college is inscribed in Tamil. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the sun represents life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity; and the globe denotes education, knowledge, influence, timelessness, global unity and interconnectedness.
