DR. N.G.P. ARTS AND SCIENCE COLLEGE (DRNGPASC) The circular emblem of Dr. N.G.P. Arts and Science College (DRNGPASC) features a traditional lamp supported by an open book in a shield surmounted by a rising sun and a banner inscribed with its motto in Tamil ‘கற்றனைத்து ஊறும் அறிவு’ meaning ‘Knowledge Grows As Much As One Learns’. This assemblage is ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name of the college and its year of its establishment. The lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the book refers to learning, education, knowledge and wisdom; the shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; and the sun represents life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity.
