GOVERNMENT ARTS AND SCIENCE COLLEGE, THIRUKATTUPALLI (GASCTKP) The emblem of Government Arts and Science College, Thirukattupalli (GASCTKP) features a paddy field with  an image of the historic Agneeswarar Temple, a Chola-era Shiva temple dedicated to Lord Agneeswarar, located by the Kaveri River, supported by a traditional lamp an open book and by a pair of crests of paddy on sides. The motifs are ensconced by a blue circular border inscribed with the name of the college in Tamil. At the bottom, on the seal, the motto of the college in Tamil ‘அறிவு அற்றம் காக்கும்’ (421, Thirukkural, Thiruvalluvar) meaning ‘Wisdom is A Weapon of Defence’ is inscribed on a blue banner. The gopuram symbolises divine blessings and guidance; lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the book refers to knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; and the paddy refers to agriculture and food security.
