GOVERNMENT ARTS AND SCIENCE COLLEGE, SIVAKASI (GASC SIVAKASI) The emblem of Government Arts and Science College, Sivakasi (GASC Sivakasi) features the image of Kasi Viswanatha Swami Temple, an open book, a traditional lamp; a globe of the world, and a mortarboard hat, ensconced by a red circular border inscribed with the name and place of the college. The seal is supported by a banner inscribed with the motto of the college in Tamil ‘அறிவு நல்லொழுக்கம் மேன்மை’. The temple gopuram symbolises divine blessings and guidance; the book refers to to knowledge, learning, education and wisdom; the lamp symbolises  light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the globe refers to education, knowledge, influence, timelessness, global unity and interconnectedness; the mortarboard hat or Oxford hat denotes educational achievement, equality, tradition and rights of passage.
