LOGANATHA NARAYANASAMY GOVERNMENT ARTS COLLEGE (AUTONOMOUS), PONNERI (LNGC) The emblem of the Loganatha Narayanasamy Government Arts College (Autonomous), Ponneri (LNGC) features a shield inscribed with the motifs of a lotus, an open book, a ‘kuthuvilakku’ (a traditional lamp), a hoe and a field with seedlings. Below the shield the motto of the college in Tamil ‘ஒழுக்கம் உடைமை குடிமை’ meaning ‘Morality Possessions Civic Engagement’ is inscribed on a banner. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the lotus denotes purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty; the book refers to knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; the lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; and the hoe and the field denotes farmer and agriculture.
