SETHU INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY The circular seal of Sethu Institute of Technology (SIT) features a gearwheel housing the motifs of a computer, a handheld electronic device, a symbol of ‘power’, a torch and an open book. The gearwheel is placed on a grey circle surmounted by the name of the college and supported by a brown banner with gold outlines inscribed with its motto ‘Knowledge Service Progress’. At the bottom its year of establishment is written. The gearwheel, computer, power symbol, and the electronic device refer to the branches of engineering; the book refers to knowledge, education, learning, and wisdom; the burning torch is an emblem of enlightenment, hope, life, truth and the regenerative power. The brown colour signifies earthiness, simplicity, stability, humility, warmth, reliability, endurance, timelessness and tradition; and gold signifies wealth, prosperity, power, prestige and achievement.
