ARIGNAR ANNA GOVERNMENT ARTS COLLEGE MUSIRI (AAGACM) The emblem of Arignar Anna-Government Arts College Musiri (AAGACM) features the motifs of a ‘kuthuvilakku’ (a traditional lamp) with glowing flames supported by a pair of elephants and ensconced by a pair of laurels and a pair of sugarcanes. The assemblage is surmounted by a pink banner inscribed with the name of the college and supported by a blue banner inscribed with the motto of the college in Tamil ‘கடமை கண்ணியம் கட்டுப்பாடு’ meaning ‘Duty Dignity Discipline’. The lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the elephants signify power, strength, unity and wisdom; the laurels are symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication; and the sugarcane refers to the local produce.
