The name of the college is written on the right. The pillars are the bridge to heaven from earth and pillar means strength, security of foundation and trustworthiness. The mortarboard or Oxford hat denotes educational achievement, equality, tradition and rights of passage; the gearwheel denotes technology, engineering, interconnectedness, efficiency, precision, progress, advancement, synchronisation, timing, order and structure; the book refers to learning, knowledge, education and wisdom; and the leaves growth, renewal, new beginnings, change, and the cycles of life.
