BHARATHI WOMEN'S COLLEGE (BWC) The emblem of Bharathi Women’s College (BWC) features a shield housing the motifs of a peacock, a traditional lamp, an elephant with lotus, a pair of ‘kuthuvilakkus’ (traditional lamps), an open book, a veena, and a ship on sea and the motto of the college ‘Endeavour to Enlighten’. Below the shield, on a red banner, the name of the college is inscribed. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the lamps symbolise light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the book refers to learning, education, knowledge and wisdom; veena refers to music, culture and tradition; peacock refers to grace and beauty; the elephant refers to power, strength, unity and wisdom; the ship on the sea refers to the port of the locale.

The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the lamps symbolise light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the peacock symbolises regrowth, rejuvenation, royalty, respect, honour, integrity, beauty, love and passion; the elephant signifies power, strength, unity and wisdom; the book refers to education, knowledge, learning and wisdom; the veena refers to art, culture and tradition; and the ship refers to global ambitions, reach, and aspirations.
