GOVERNMENT ARTS AND SCIENCE COLLEGE, KANGEYAM (GASCKGM) The emblem of Government Arts and Science College, Kangeyam (GASCKGM) features a shield ensconcing the image of Sivanmalai Murugan Temple, famous kangayam bull, a coconut tree and a coconut, and a factory. The name of the college is written on a green banner which is placed above the shield. The shield is crested by a traditional lamp and supported by a red banner inscribed with the motto of the college in Tamil ‘அறிவு ஆக்கம் ஆய்வு’ meaning ‘Knowledge Creation Research’. The factory refers to industry and production; the other motifs represent Kangeyam and its well-known identities and heritage; the shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; and the lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity.
