AVS COLLEGE OF ARTS AND SCIENCE (AVSC) The emblem of AVS College of Arts and Science (AVSC) features a shield housing the motifs of a traditional lamp, a veena and an open book, supported by a red banner inscribed with its motto in Tamil ‘கற்க ஊறும் அறிவு’ meaning ‘Knowledge Springs from the Fountain of Learning’. The assemblage is supported by a banner inscribed with the tagline of the college ‘Wisdom Triumphs’ and surmounted by a banner inscribed with the name of the college in Tamil. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the lamp  symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the veena refers to the arts, culture and heritage; and the book refers to knowledge, education, learning and wisdom.
