A. V. C. COLLEGE (AUTONOMOUS) (AVC COLLEGE (AUTONOMOUS)) The shield-shaped emblem of A. V. C. College (Autonomous) (AVC College (Autonomous)) features the motifs of a lotus, supported by a coconut tree, a veena and a pair of male elephants, a ‘kuthuvilakku’, (a traditional lamp), a sheaf of paddy with five crests, a dancing peacock and the gopuram of the Sri Mayuranathaswamy Temple. Below the shield, on a yellow banner, the motto of the college in Tamil ‘கற்றனைத்தூறுமறிவு’ (Thiruvalluvar, 396, Thirukkural) meaning ‘Knowledge Grows As Much As One Learns’ is inscribed.
