KANYAKUMARI GOVERNMENT MEDICAL COLLEGE (KGMC) The emblem of Kanyakumari Government Medical College (KGMC) features the motifs of Poet Thiruvalluvar’s statue on sea at Cape Comorin with a backdrop of Western Ghats mountain range and coconut trees representing the geography of the place supported by the Staff of Hermes or Staff of Caduceus with a pair of wings and entwined by a pair of serpents. These motifs are ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name and place of the college. The motto of the college ‘Cure Care Console’ is placed below the seal. All these elements are placed in a circle with a green border. The staff with the snake has long been a symbol of medicine and the medical profession.
