GOVERNMENT ARTS AND SCIENCE COLLEGE, PERAVURANI (GASCP) The Government Arts and Science College, Peravurani (GASCP) features a circle with an image of the vimana of Sri Akshayapureeswarar Temple, an image of a Bharatanatyam dancer, a satellite and an open book inscribed with the motto of the college in Tamil ‘கற்றனை த்தூறும் அறிவு’ (396, Thirukkural, Thiruvalluvar) meaning ‘Knowledge will Flow to the Extent of the Education Acquired by the People’. The circle is circumscribed by the name of the college in Tamil, a traditional lamp and a pair of laurels. The motifs are ensconced by a green circular outline. Below the seal, on a green banner, the name of the college is written. The vimana of the temple refers to the history and heritage of the place and divine guidance and blessings; the dancer refers to arts; the satellite refers to science; the book refers to knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; and the laurels are symbols of symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, ha...
