SRI MEENAKSHI GOVERNMENT ARTS COLLEGE FOR WOMEN (AUTONOMOUS) (SMGACW) The emblem of Sri Meenakshi Government Arts College For Women (Autonomous) (SMGACW) features the façade of the Sri Prasanna Venkatesa Perumal Temple supported by a pair of hands holding a pack of palmleaf manuscripts, the ‘Golden Lotus Tank’ of the Sri Meenakshi Temple with lotus. The motifs are ensconced by a blue circular border inscribed with the motto of the college ‘Knowledge is Power' and supported by a pair of fish. The temple refers to the heritage and history and divine grace and guidance; the ‘Golden Lotus Tank’ refers to the divine boon and blessings; the palmleaf manuscript refers to heritage, knowledge, history and wisdom; the fish is the official motif of the erstwhile kingdom of Pandyas.
