M.V. MUTHIAH GOVERNMENT ARTS COLLEGE FOR WOMEN, DINDIGUL (MVMWGACDGL) The shield shaped emblem of M.V. Muthiah Government Arts College For Women, Dindigul (MVMWGACDGL) features the gopuram of Sound ararajaperumal Temple , a ‘kuthuvilakku’ (a traditional lamp), a pair of laurels, its name inscribed on top in Tamil and its motto in Tamil ‘தூய்மை ஒருமை திறமை’ meaning ‘Purity Unity Efficiency’written at the bottom. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; gopuram  refers to the history and heritage of the locale and divine blessings and guidance; the lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; and the laurels are symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication.
