GOVERNMENT ARTS AND SCIENCE COLLEGE FOR WOMEN, BARGUR (GASCWBGR) The emblem of Government Arts and Science College For Women, Bargur (GASCWBGR) features a shield inscribed with the image of the gopuram of Sri Prasanna Varadaraja Perumal Temple temple; a plantain tree, an open book, a traditional lamp and a palmyra tree. The motto of the college in Tamil 'கல்வியே செல்வம்' meaning 'Education is the Waelth' surmounts the shield. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the gopuram refers to divine blessings and guidance; the book refers to learning, education, knowledge and wisdom; the lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the plantain and palmyra trees refers to the local flora and their produce.
