VIDYAVARDHINI'S COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY (VCET) The circular emblem of Vidyavardhini's College of Engineering and Technology (VCET) features a circle with an eight-petalled lotus spread supporting the traditional Maharashtrian lamp ‘ Laman Diva ’. The motifs are ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name of the college and its motto in Sanskrit ‘सा विद्या या विमुक्तये’ ( Rishi Parāśara , 1,19.41, Viṣṇu Purāṇa ) meaning ‘ Knowledge is One That Liberates ’. The eight-petaled lotus symbolises purity, spiritual awakening, and higher consciousness in Hinduism and Buddhism. It is often associated with the eight forms of the goddess Lakshmi ( Ashta Lakshmi ), representing wealth, fertility, and courage . In yoga and spiritual contexts , the eight petals can represent the different mental modifications or stages on the path to enlightenment, including the Svadhishthana chakra , which is linked to the element of water .
