The initials of the college are written four boxes placed above the motif and the motto of the college ‘Towards Excellence’ is written below. The ‘check’ mark refers to affirmation, correctness, completion, and approval, originating from the Latin 'v' for veritas (truth) and evolving from quick notations on ancient tablets to its modern use. The mortarboard or Oxford hat denotes educational achievement, equality, tradition and rights of passage.

Check marks or ticks are used to show something is correct, chosen, complete, or verified. The tick ‘✔’ comes from the letter V in the Latin word ‘veritas’, which means truth. The mortarboard hat or Oxford hat denotes educational achievement, equality, tradition and rights of passage. The colours grey signifies strength, longevity, unemotional, detached, balanced and impartial, power, influence, wisdom and intelligence; and blue signifies serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty.
