PURATCHI THALAIVAR DR.M.G.R GOVERNMENT ARTS AND SCIENCE COLLEGE, MADHANUR (GASCMDR) The emblem of Puratchi Thalaivar Dr.M.G.R.Government Arts and Science College, Madhanur (GASCMDR) features a traditional lamp supported by a pair of elephants and the State emblem of Tamilnadu, which is placed on a background of palm leaf manuscripts ensconced by a green circular border inscribed with the name of the college on Tamil and supported by a red banner inscribed with the motto of the college in Tamil ‘உண்மை உழைப்பு உயர்வு’ meaning ‘Truth Labour Growth’. The lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the elephants signify power, strength, unity and wisdom; and the manuscripts refer to history, knowledge, heritage, and education.
