GOVERNMENT COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING, TIRUNELVELI The circular seal of Government College of Engineering, Tirunelveli features a circle housing the motifs of lotus, an open book, oscilloscope waveform, a factory, a building, a satellite and a electrical transmission tower ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the college’s name in Tamil and placed on a 34 petal lotus and crested by a traditional lamp and supported by a banner inscribed with its motto in Tamil ‘கற்க கசடற செய்க செயற்கரிய வினை’ meaning ‘Learn Thoroughly Act Extraordinarily’. The lotus refers to purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty; the book refers to learning, knowledge, education and wisdom; the traditional lamp refers to enlightenment and path to the future and the other motifs refers to different fields of engineering education provided in the college.
