GOVERNMENT MEDICAL COLLEGE AND HOSPITAL, NAMAKKAL (GMCHNKL) The emblem of Government Medical College and Hospital, Namakkal (GMCHNKL) features the Staff of Hermes or Staff of Caduceus with a pair of wings and entwined by a pair of serpents crested by an open book and placed on the image of Namakkal Fort, which is an important icon of the locale. The motifs are ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name and place of the college. Below the seal, on a red banner, the motto of the college is written. The staff with the snake has long been a symbol of medicine and the medical profession.
