ADHIYAMAN ARTS AND SCIENCE COLLEGE FOR WOMEN (AASCW)
ADHIYAMAN ARTS AND SCIENCE COLLEGE FOR WOMEN (AASCW) The emblem of Adhiyaman Arts And Science College for Women (AASCW) features an image of king Adhiyaman with poet Avvaiyaar ensconced by a yellow circular border inscribed with the name and place of the college. Below the seal, on a yellow banner, the motto of the college ‘Prosper and Help Others to Prosper’ is inscribed. The image symbolises Adhiyaman Neduman Anji (a 1st-century CE chieftain of Thagadoor, modern Dharmapuri) and the renowned Tamil poet Avvaiyar shared a famous, deep bond of friendship and mutual respect. As a dedicated patron, Adhiyaman gifted Avvaiyar a rare, immortal Nellikani (gooseberry) fruit, enabling her to live longer and continue serving Tamil literature.
