ST. THOMAS COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY (STCET A) The blue colour emblem of St. Thomas College of Engineering and Technology (STCET A) features a shield with an open book supporting a yellow and red traditional lamp crested by ‘STC’ and blessed by a pair of winged angels. A banner placed on the shield at the bottom is inscribed with the motto in Latin ‘Education Vincere Tenebris’ meaning ‘Education Conquering Darkness’ and below the assemblage, the name of the college is written in black letters. The Shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the book refers to education, learning, knowledge and wisdom; the angels symbolise divine grace, blessings and protection; and the colour blue signifies serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty.
