GOVERNMENT ARTS COLLEGE, PARAMAKUDI (GACPMK) The emblem of Government Arts College, Paramakudi (GACPMK) features the gopuram of Sundararaja Perumal temple supported by a traditional lamp and a pair of laurels with an open book placed at the bottom. These motifs are ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name of the college in Tamil. The motto of the college in Tamil ‘அன்பு அடக்கம் அறிவு’ meaning ‘Love Humility Knowledge’ is inscribed on a blue banner placed below the seal. The gopuram refers to heritage and tradition, and divine grace and guidance; the lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the laurels are symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication; and the book refers to learning, education, knowledge and wisdom.
