SIR THEAGARAYA COLLEGE (STC) The emblem of Sir Theagaraya College (STC) features a golden shield with scarlet outlines houses the motifs of a ‘kuthuvilakku’- a traditional lamp, a veena and an open book; supported by a scarlet banner inscribed with the motto of the college ‘Sweetness and Light. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the lamp symbolises symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the veena refers to arts, culture, tradition and heritage; and the book refers to learning, education, knowledge and wisdom.
