RAO BAHADUR Y. MAHABALESWARAPPA ENGINEERING COLLEGE (RYMEC) The emblem of Rao Bahadur Y. Mahabaleswarappa Engineering College (RYMEC) features a Shivling supported by a lotus crested by a five-pointed star with rays. Below the vase, on a banner the motto of the college in Kannada ‘ವಿದ್ಯೆಗೆ ಜ್ಞಾನವೇ ಭೂಷಣ’ meaning ‘Knowledge is The Ornament of Education’ is inscribed. The lotus refers to purity, enlightenment, and spiritual growth in Indian culture; the Shivling signifies a connection to Shaivism and divine blessings and guidance; the star refers to harmony among all things in life, with its points providing insight into how we can strive towards achieving this goal.
