MOTHER GNANAMMA ARTS AND SCIENCE COLLEGE FOR WOMEN (MGASCW) The logo of Mother Gnanamma Arts And Science College For Women (MGASCW) features pictorials on either side of its name. On the left side, the image of ‘Mother Gnanamabal' supported by a floral arrangement is placed and on the right a shield with the motifs of a traditional lamp, a five-pointed star and an open book, and it is supported by a banner inscribed with the name of the college. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the star represents perfect harmony among all things in life, with its points providing insight into how we can strive towards achieving this goal; and the book refers to education, knowledge, learning and wisdom.
