GOVERNMENT KILPAUK MEDICAL COLLEGE (KMC) The emblem of Government Kilpauk Medical College (KMC) features a Staff of Hermes or Staff of Caduceus entwined by a pair of serpents and crested by a traditional lamp supported by a banner inscribed with the motto of the college in Latin ‘Mens Sana In Corpore Sano’ meaning 'A Sound Mind In a Sound Body’. The staff with the snake has long been a symbol of medicine and the medical profession. It originates from the story of Asclepius, who was revered by the ancient Greeks as a god of healing and whose cult involved the use of snakes. The lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity.

STANLEY MEDICAL COLLEGE (SMC) The emblem of Stanley Medical College (SMC) features a Staff of Hermes or Staff of Caduceus entwined by a pair of serpents and crested by lotus supported by a banner inscribed with the name of the college. The staff with the snake has long been a symbol of medicine and the medical profession. JOY UNIVERSITY (JU) The emblem of Joy University (JU) is a monogram of brown and grey of its initials ‘JU’ supported by its name in grey serif capitals. The motto of the college ‘Semper Paratus’ meaning ‘Always Ready’, (the motto of the United States Coast Guard (USCG)), representing the commitment to readiness for any mission. The colour brown signifies the earthiness, simplicity, stability, humility, warmth, reliability, endurance, timelessness and tradition; and grey represents strength, longevity, unemotional, detached, balanced and impartial, power, influence, wisdom and intelligence.

NMV UNIVERSITY (NMVU) The emblem of NMV University (NMVU) features an abstract red, blue and pink lotus and five humans supported by its name on the right in sans-serif capitals. The lotus denotes purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty; and humans refer to the stakeholders of the university.

ALL INDIA INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES MADURAI (AIIMS MADURAI) The circular emblem of All India Institute of Medical Sciences Madurai (AIIMS Madurai) features a Staff of Caduceus or Staff of Hermes entwined by a pair of serpents and crested by lotus ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name of the Institute in Devanagari and English. The seal is supported by the motto of the Institute in Sanskrit ‘शरीरमाद्यं खलु धर्मसाधनम्’ meaning Kumarasambhavam by Mahakavi Kalidasa.
