The emblem of Government Arts and Science College for Women, Puliyankulam (GASCWCBE) features a shield inscribed with the motifs of a globe and tree, two women holding a torch and an open book with a traditional lamp supported by the tagline in Tamil ‘அறிவே ஆற்றல்’ ensconced by a light blue border inscribed with the motto of the college ‘Equality Education Empowerment’. The shield is supported by a blue banner inscribed with the tagline ‘Knowledge is Power’. The motifs are placed within a yellow circular border inscribed with the name and place of the college. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the tree and globe refers to nature, growth, environment and sustenance; the women holding torch of flame symbolises women empowerment, enlightenment and progress; the book refers to knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; and the lamp lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity.
