V. V. VANNIAPERUMAL COLLEGE FOR WOMEN (VVVCW) The emblem of V. V. Vanniaperumal College for Women (VVVCW) features a scroll housing a shield featuring the motifs of the Chera, Chola and Pandya kingdoms, a lotus, a hand holding a torch and an airplane. Below the shield, on a yellow banner, the motto of the college in Tamil ‘பண்பு, ஒளி, உயர்வு’ meaning ‘Character, Radiance, Nobility’ is written. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the torch with flame is an emblem of enlightenment, hope, life, truth and the regenerative power; the lotus denotes purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty; the airplane symbolises science and technology; the emblem of Chera, Chola and Pandya kingdoms refer to the heritage, history and culture of the region.
