BISHOP CALDWELL COLLEGE (BCC) The red, brown and golden emblem of Bishop Caldwell College (BCC) features a shield with glowing rays housing the motifs of an open book, a pearl nestled within an open oyster shell, a pair of candles and the motto ‘Seek Study Shine’ and ‘நாடுக கற்க ஒளிர்க’. The shield is surmounted by a banner inscribed with the name of the college and supported by a banner inscribed with the name of the place of the college. The red shield symbolises frontline compassion, sacrifice, and divine protection; the pearl in an oyster shell pearl nestled within an open oyster shell; the book refers to learning, education, knowledge and wisdom; the candles representing hope, spiritual guidance, and the triumph of light over darkness; and the colour gold symbolises wealth, prosperity, power, prestige and achievement.
