GOVERNMENT ARTS AND SCIENCE COLLEGE, PERAMBALUR (GASCP)

The emblem of Government Arts and Science College, Perambalur (GASCP) features a circular image of the gopuram of Sri Ekambareswarar Temple with a pair of peacocks supporting on sides. The image is surmounted by a circular border inscribed with the name of the college in Tamil. On a red banner placed below the seal, the motto of the college ‘கற்போம் உயர்வோம்’ meaning ‘Let us Learn Let us Prosper’ is inscribed along with an open book. The gopuram signifies divine grace and guidance and history and heritage of the place; the peacocks symbolise regrowth, rejuvenation, royalty, respect, honour, integrity, beauty, love and passion; and the book refers to learning and education.

14 CORPS The 14 Corps of the Indian Army is a part of the Army’s Udhampur-based Northern Command. It was raised after the Kargil War in 1999, to control troops in Ladakh. It currently consists of 3rd Infantry Division. The division was created in October 1962 in Ladakh. It fought in the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965.
