The motto of the college in Tamil ‘திறம்பட கல் உலகினை வெல்’ meaning ‘Study Effectively, Conquer the World’ is inscribed on a blue banner placed below the seal. The book refers to learning, knowledge, education and wisdom; the bow and arrow with a pen head symbolises intellectual strength, skill, focus, and purpose, representing divine power, readiness for battle, protection, and guidance; the microscope and veena refer to science and arts respectively, and the laurels are are symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication.
