The emblem of Government Arts College For Women, Krishnagiri (GACWKGI) features a blue shield holding the motifs of a ‘kuthuvilakku’ (traditional lamp), a lotus, an open book, and an image of mountains above waves of water and a tree with fruits. Below the shield, on a banner, the motto of the college in Tamil ‘கல்வி நேர்மை உயர்வு’ meaning ‘Education Integrity Eminence’ is inscribed. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the book refers to knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; the lotus denotes purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty; the mountains symbolise strength, stability and overcoming challenges; the water waves refer to life, purity, clarity, change and dynamism; and the tree symbolises growth, life, sustenance, knowledge, or prosperity.
