VAIGAI ARTS AND SCIENCE COLLEGE (VASC) The shield shaped emblem of Vaigai Arts and Science College (VASC) features a globe on an open book supported by a mortarboard hat, an atomic diagram and assorted sports equipment and the name of the college ‘Vaigai’. At the bottom, on the shield, a banner inscribed with the words ‘Vaigai College’. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the globe denotes education, knowledge, influence, timelessness, global unity and interconnectedness; the book refers to education, learning and wisdom; the mortarboard hat or Oxford hat denotes educational achievement, equality, tradition and rights of passage; the atomic diagram refers to science and technology; and the sports goods and equipment refer to physical fitness, health and competitiveness.

VALANAR ARTS AND SCIENCE COLLEGE (VASC) The predominantly blue coloured emblem of Valanar Arts and Science College (VASC) featuring a compass rose, an open book, a mortarboard hat, a fisted hand, a light bulb with a pair of gear wheels and the words in Tamil ‘கல்வி விடுதலை வளர்ச்சி வாழ்வு வலிமை’ meaning ‘Education, Liberation, Development, Life, Strength’. The assemblage is ensconced by a circular border carrying the name and place of the college and a pair of laurels. On a banner placed on the seal at the bottom the motto of the college in Tamil ‘எளியவரும் ஏற்றம் பெறவே’ meaning ‘So that Even the Poor May Rise’ is inscribed. VALLALAR ARTS AND SCIENCE COLLEGE (VASC) The emblem of Vallalar Arts and Science College (VASC) features a shield housing the image of Sri Ramalinga Swamigal or Vallalar, motifs of a pair of traditional lamps and a lotus. The shield is supported by a banner inscribed with the motto of the college. This assemblage is ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name and place of the college. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the lotus denotes purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty; and the lamps symbolise light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity. Vallalar championed compassion (Jeevakarunyam) and universal brotherhood, opposing casteism and advocating for the worship of God as the Supreme Grace Light (Arutperumjothi).
