Below the seal, on a blue banner, the motto of the college in Tamil ‘கைப்பொருள் தன்னின் மெய்ப்பொருள் கல்வி’ (22, Kondraivendhan, Avvaiyar) meaning ‘True Wealth is the Education one has Acquired, rather than the Wealth one Possess’ is inscribed. The gopuram symbolises the places’s history, heritage and divine blessings and guidance; the water refers to the Cooum river; the book refers to learning, education, knowledge and wisdom and the lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity.
