AVS COLLEGE OF ARTS AND SCIENCE (AVS COLLEGE) The emblem of AVS college of Arts and Science (AVS College) features a shield housing the motifs of a traditional lamps, a veena and an open book, crested by the year of establishment of the college and supported by a red banner inscribed with the motto in Tamil ‘கற்க ஊறும் அறிவு’ meaning ‘Knowledge Grows Through Learning’. The name of the college is inscribed on a banner placed at the top and the tagline of the college ‘Wisdom Triumphs’ is written on a banner placed at the bottom. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; veena refers to arts, culture, heritage and tradition; and the book  refers to knowledge, education, learning and wisdom.
