VENKATESWARA COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, PUDUCHERRY (VCEDU) The emblem of Venkateswara College of Education, Puducherry (VCEDU)  features an open book written with the tagline in Tamil ‘கற்க கசடற’ (Thiruvalluvar, 391, Thirukkural) meaning ‘Learn Without Mistakes’, supporting a lotus and a glowing traditional lamp ensconced by a brown circular border inscribed with the name of the college and supported by a brown banner inscribed with the motto of the college ‘Education Enlights Knowledge’. The book refers to knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; the lotus denotes purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty; the lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; and the colour brown signifies the earthiness, simplicity, stability, humility, warmth, reliability, endurance, timelessness and tradition.
