The emblem of Government Arts College, Dharmapuri (GACDPI) features a shield inscribed with the images of Mūkkanūraiyan Malai, the gopuram of Shri paravasudeva Perumal temple, a mango tree and motifs of cricket bat, badminton racket, football, and hockey sticks, a ‘kuthuvilakku’ (traditional lamp) an open book and a lotus. The shield is supported by a brown banner inscribed with the motto of the college ‘படிப்பு பண்பாடு பயனுள்ள வாழ்க்கை’ meaning ‘Education Culture Meaningful Life’. The shield shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; mountain refers to the local geography, the gopuram refers to heritage, history and divine blessings and guidance; the mangoes of Dharmapuri are well known for their taste; the sports and games equipment refer to health, competitive spirit and fitness; the lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the book refers to knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; and the lotus denotes purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty.
