The emblem of Government Arts and Science College, Kanyakumari (GASCKK) features a circle housing the motifs of a shield with a glowing sun, an archer, an open book supported by an hand and crested by a mortarboard hat, the gopuram of Sri Thanumalayan Temple and the seashore of Kanyakumari; supported by the Statue of Thiruvalluvar on Sea, a pair of coconut trees and an open book with a traditional lamp. On the circle, a blue banner inscribed with the motto of the college in Tamil ‘முயற்சி திருவினை ஆக்கும்’ (616, Thirukkural, Thiruvalluvar) meaning ‘Effort Bring Prosperity’ is inscribed. The circle is ensconced by a blue circular border inscribed with the name and place of the college in Tamil. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the sun represents life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity; the archer denotes aim, focus, concentration and achieving the target; the book, the nib and the hat refers to academics and academic process and achievement; the gopuram refers to history and heritage and divine blessings and guidance; the seashore refers to the place; the statue refers to the tourist attraction; the coconut trees refer to the geography of the place; the book refers to learning, education, knowledge, and wisdom; and the lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity.
